For commercial, municipal, and industrial markets, our mechanical division handles a wide scope of plumbing, HVAC, heat transfer, fluid process contracts, and mechanical maintenance.
HVAC fabrication.
Our integrated sheet metal fabrication shop offers heating, ventilation, air conditioning, air handling, duct construction solutions, and maintenance. We utilize duct construction methods for the fabrication of ductwork and associated components.
Panel fabrication & full system integration.
We specialize in the development and construction of custom control applications with a focus on water and wastewater treatment. Lynk offers full system integration for any controls project and is a certified solutions provider for VTScada along with an active CSA panel manufacturing facility.
Controls and instrumentation.
We execute design, fabrication, and system integration projects with custom controls and SCADA systems for municipal water systems, first nation communities, and power utilities.
Water treatment.
Our capabilities span the full complement of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and controls scopes for water and wastewater treatment throughout Nova Scotia. Our projects include New Victoria, Pottle Lake, Louisbourg, New Waterford, and Sydney water treatment plants.
Wind energy projects.
As Canada moves towards net-zero emissions by 2050, the demand for alternative energy sources is rising. In Nova Scotia, wind energy is an important part of the solution, and accounts for a large part of the province’s growth in renewable electricity. Lynk provided the electrical connections for windmill projects in Lingan, Donkin, and Glace Bay. The projects included grounding, installation of the underground duct bank, high- voltage, and fiber optics for the controls.
Ice arenas.
Lynk has performed the full electrical, mechanical, and HVAC scopes for multiple Cape Breton arenas such as Northside Community Civic Centre, Membertou Health and Wellness Centre, and the Glace Bay Miners Forum. Two of these arenas were geothermal-based utilizing IceKube/EcoKube Systems® along with a cooling tower to allow heat rejection. The third arena utilized an ammonia refrigerant system as the primary source for ice making.
Traffic and streetlight maintenance.
Lynk has provided maintenance support and new construction of traffic, pedestrian signals, and streetlights for local municipalities and the provincial government throughout Cape Breton. Clients include Cape Breton Regional Municipality and the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation.
